2.  Hillary got famous after he was the first person to reach the summit of the highest mountain in the world.

3.  Born 1919  Hillary worked with his dad on the 1.600 beehives he had.  Edmund Hillary applied to the Royal New Zealand Air Force in 1939  In 1942 Hillary applied again to join the army  Climbed to the summit of new Zealand mountains.

4.  First man to reach the summit of mount Everest.  He helped Sherpa's from Nepal who were really poor.  Hillary tried to find the source of the Ganges river.  On 11 January 2008, Hillary died.  Were honored by the prime minister of India.

5.  Had 3 kids.  Searched for yeti.  Climbed mountains in New Zealand.  He married Louise.

6.  Hillary became a hero after he climbed mount Everest
