2. Aims To learn about Brighton & Hove’s sexual health services, especially those specifically for young people To understand your rights when it comes to accessing information and services relating to your sexual health and wellbeing To identify the roles of different community organisations and public agencies in meeting the needs of people with relationship, or drug, alcohol and tobacco problems, and their families.

3. Learning Outcomes You know where you, your partners, and your friends can go in Brighton & Hove if they need some advice/information about condoms, emergency contraception, normal contraception, STI testing, drug, alcohol and tobacco problems. You can identify at least two people or services who can help support your sexual health and wellbeing

4. Ground Rules Listen to one another Respect other people’s right to express their point of view (even if you don’t agree) Remember that not everyone wants to do the same things you want to do, and that everyone has different levels of experience Remember that you have the right to challenge and question, but that you must do so appropriately Value the diversity of the group Think carefully before making any personal comments Don’t ask personal questions Remember that everything said must be kept confidential Laugh with each other, but not at each other Anything else?

We are not assuming that you are having sex now, or are planning to have sex soon- we know that everyone decides to have sex at different times The best place to have sexual relationships is within a permanent and committed partnership We just want to make sure that you understand how to access the services that are available to you, when you do need them

6. The C-Card The C-Card provides anyone under the age of 25 with access to free condoms & lube.

7. 1.You have a chat about safer sex with someone who has been trained to give out the c-card (youth worker, school nurse, volunteer, GP, etc) 2.At the end of the chat, you are given a C-Card, 6 condoms, and a sachet of lube. The c-card has eight squares on the back, each of which entitles you to 6 free condoms. 3.You can then go anywhere that is part of the scheme, and show your c-card to get free condoms. 10. SWAY Drop-In Clinics Sex Worries and You Clinics –SWAY clinics are free sexual health drop-in clinics set up specifically for young people at different GP practices throughout the city. You can get sexual health screens, pregnancy tests, contraception, emergency contraception, Chlamydia screenings, and general advice and information.
