4 Perkins 2014-15 GSilverman gsilverman@nasboces.org 4 Accountability: Secondary Performance Indicators  Academic attainment: ELA, Math + integration in CTE courses  Technical Skills Assessment measures  HS Diploma as per NYS requirements  CTE grade achievement: 75% or better  Graduation rates  Placement work/college/military: where they are after HS – 6 months out  Nontraditional: participation, completion  State performance indicators negotiated with Federal government for evaluation  Perkins and CTEDS 1 and 2 are now combined to one data set in SIRS

13 Perkins 2014-15 GSilverman gsilverman@nasboces.org 13 Major Efforts for 2008 – 13 Emerging Technologies in Industry Academic Achievement: College and Career Ready Special Populations College and Career Ready Meeting/exceeding Perkins benchmarks: data collection and reporting Post-secondary Readiness and Placement Prepare for High Wage, High Skills Career on LI All 2013-14 activities fall into one of these Efforts, data collected, and data reporting assurances required.

Link secondary career education and postsecondary career education; including (re)application for program approval (aka, “Perkins Program of Study”). 2. Program revision to strengthen academic integration and alignment to the standards in the core academic subjects. 3. Providing students with strong experience in and understanding of all aspects of the industry, including technical skill attainment. (Cont’d)

Evaluate and continuously improve CTE programming. 6.
