1 Unit 3 - Set 4 Aim : to introduce pupils to the theme of Health Care to practise the vocabulary and the structures which are introduced in the lesson Organising the lesson: Divide the class into 4 groups (each consists of 6 pupils) Four groups work under the teacher’s instruction

3 If you go to school, you’ll give flu to others.  Her mother doesn’t want her to go to school. She says English lesson (7 th form): Unit 3 – Set 4 “ If you go to school, you will give flu to others “  Ann has flu but she wants to go to school. She misses her friends very much.

Complete the following sentences ( Time allowed 5 minutes )

5 LISTENING LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE DESCRIBING HOW THEY FEEL AND SAY WHAT IS WRONG WITH HIM Peter : It’s very painful. I can’t swallow food very easily and it hurts when I cough. Susan : Yes, I feel quite awful. I feel hot and tired, and my nose is running. I have to blow my nose every five minutes. Mrs White: My head fells dreadful. Every few minutes I get a strong sharp pain. Tom : If I don’t move my head it’s all right, but when I try to turn my head I feel this terrible pain. Mr Brown : I can’t eat anything. It really hurts when I chew on it. I must go and see the dentist.

GIVE YOUR ADVICE GROUP 1: DESCIRBE HOW YOU FEEL IF YOU HAVE A BAD COLD WORD PROMPTS: FEEL TERRIBLY TIRED SOMETIMES HOT/ SOMETIMES COLD HAVE A SLIGHT TEMPERATURE HAVE A COUGH/ A HEADACHE NOSE IS RUNNING, SNEEZE ALL THE TIME GROUP 2: YOU ARE DOCTORS GIVE YOUR ADVICE WORD PROMPTS: TAKE TWO TABLETS THREE TIMES A DAY TAKE A TEASPOON OF THIS MEDICINE IN THE MORNING AND ANOTHER IN THE EVENING. TAKE TWO TALBLETS IN THE MORNING ANOTHER TWO IN THE EVENING BEFORE YOU GO TO BED.

7 DESCRIBE HOW YOU FEEL IF.... YOU ARE DOCTORS. GIVE YOUR ADVICE GROUP 3: DESCRIBE HOW YOU FEEL IF YOU HAVE AN EARACHE CANNOT HEAR ANYTHING ONE’S LEFT/RIGHT EAR HURTS FEEL A SHARP PAIN IN ONE’S EAR A TEMPERATURE GROUP 4: YOU ARE DOCTORS, TELL THE PEOPLE WHAT MEDICINE TO TAKE, AND HOW OFTEN EACH DAY. HAVE ONE’S INJECTION EVERY DAY. TAKE TWO TALBLETS WITH A GLASS OF WATER AFTER EVERY MEAL. TAKE ONE TABLET IN THE MORNING, DON’T TAKE ANOTHER ONE UNITL THE NEXT DAY.
