Assignments The Assignments tool is used to streamline score entry.

Assignments: Edit Teacher Preferences

Assignment: Edit Grade Calc Options Select all calculation options for all standards/grading tasks assigned to this section. IMPORTANT!!

Assignments: Edit Categories To see your categories, or to edit a category click on the Edit Category link, then click on the name in the Category column.

Assignments: Copy This feature allows you to copy assignments from the source section to the destination section. Assignments and categories created in the 2011-2012 sections can be copied to other 2011- 2012 sections.

Assignments – View Tree View Tree allows you to see an outline view of Categories and Assignments.

Assignments: Filters Filters provide opportunity to sort assignments by: Terms Category Student Groups

Assignments: List Assignments list can be sorted by each column headings Active – included in grade calculation Hide – removes from Parent Portal View

Assignments: Flags Clicking on the Flag number will reveal the student associated with that flag.

Student Groups The Student Group feature allows you to place students into multiple groups within a course section Possible Uses: Differentiated Assignments Small Group Instruction

Student Groups - Overview Student Groups Allows users to place students in a course section in more than one group. Allows multiple teachers in a section to create groups Allows teachers to attach a group to an assignment

Creating Student Groups Click on Student Groups under the Instruction tab and click New. Enter a Name for your group Check mark Active. Any active team is available for use in Grade Book and the Assignments tab. Click SAVE!

Creating Student Groups Click-hold-drag the students from the Roster column on the left to the Student Group Members column on the right.

Creating Student Groups Once the group is completed, click Save.

Student Groups: Membership After student groups are created, a list of students and their active memberships can be seen. NOTE: Students can be members in one or more groups.

Student Groups: Assignments Once a group has been created, go to Create Assignment and select the group from the Student Group drop down menu. Should a student change groups, the assignments will follow that student according to the date it is created.

The Grade Book - Groups As mentioned earlier, once you create groups, they are available for use in several places including Grade Book. Student Groups will always default to All Students in the course roster. Note: If you have not created any groups, student groups will not show up in the Grade Book.
