© BOC Analysis in ADOit ® This project is implemented through the CENTRAL EUROPE Programme co-financed by the ERDF. Provided for non-commercial use as training support material for: under the framework of

- 3 - © BOC ADOit ® - View Concept Modell Views - Introduction In ADOit ® it is possible to generate different Views on models. Thus miscellaneous scenarios (i.e. Viewon a prospective application landscape) can be considered.

- 4 - © BOC Let an Application Landscape (model type “Application Architecture”) be given as example. The model consists of applications and appropriate interfaces. ADOit ® - View Concept Modell Views – Example Application Landscape

- 5 - © BOC By the menu entry “View – Management of variants – New…“ it is possible to create a new variant: ADOit ® - View Concept Modell Views – Example Application Landscape

- 6 - © BOC The new variant takes the information from the original model and can be modified arbitrarily without affecting the original model. new variant: ADOit ® - View Concept Modell Views – Example Application Landscape Original Model Example: Process View

- 7 - © BOC Another scenario: Time-referenced view Attributes:Valid from Valid until ADOit ® - View Concept Modell Views – Example Application Landscape The attributes “Valid from” and “Valid until” are stored in each Notebook of the objects, so that you can assigh a time reference to the objects.

- 8 - © BOC Because of that time reference you can create Views of a certain period: Menu View – Mangement of variants – Hide invalid objects (period of validity) ADOit ® - View Concept Modell Views – Example Application Landscape Enter reference date!

- 9 - © BOC The modell is changed so that all objects are hidden which are invalid in the specified period. Time-referenced View: ADOit ® - View Concept Modell Views – Example Application Landscape Original Model Variant without invalid elements

- 10 - © BOC Furthermore ADOit ® offers the possibility to make the inactive elements visible again (marked by a red X). Menu View – Management of variants – Show inactive elements (editing mode) ADOit ® - View Concept Modell Views – Example Application Landscape These objects can either be deleted from the application landscape or taken back to the variant (representation changes to standard back again).

- 11 - © BOC  Modelling of structure and coherences of Application Systems  Grouping and Classification of Application Systems  Attributes, Characteristics, Components of Application Systems  To-be/As-is Scenarios and Time-referenced Views Examples: ADOit ® - View Concept Summary Process View Time-referenced Default View

- 13 - © BOC Impact Analysis with ADOit ® It is possible to determine miscellanous Impacts on other objects via Impact Analysis in ADOit ®. This Analysis can be executed emanating from... - Applications, - Data, - Infrastructures Elements, - Communication Elements, - Services, - Attributes, - Control Objectives -...

- 14 - © BOC Impact Analysis in ADOit ® Approach Choose of the specific object  Analysis Component  Graphical analysis  Dependency Analysis  i.e. BIA (Infrastructure element)... 1. 2. 3.

- 15 - © BOC Impact Analysis with ADOit ® Conclusion: By incident or failure of the marked Infrastructure Element these business processes cannot be delivered properly

- 16 - © BOC ITIL (Availability Management): Via Fault Tree Analysis you can determine the chain of CIs which can lead to an incident of an IT Service. Solution in ADOit ® : Impact Analysis emenating from IT Service. ITIL ® - Fault Tree Analysis All objects (CIs) arranged beneath the IT Service can lead to an incident of it and so constrain the use of the business process above.

- 18 - © BOC As-is Analysis: Evaluation of - Objectives, - Control Objectives/Measures and - Processes. …quality and maturity level assessment of your IT by using international accredited evaluation methods … … derivation of required measures and projects … Maturity Levels: 0 Non-existent 1 Initial/Ad hoc 2 Repeatable but intuitive 3 Defined process 4 Managed and measurable 5 Optimised Assessment Diagrams with ADOit ® Reports of the ADOit ® Assessment Component Maturity Level Models

- 21 - © BOC Portfolio Analysis with ADOit ® It is possible to execute an As-is Analysis via Portfolio Analyse in ADOit ®. The evaluation of objects can be 2- or 3-dimensional due to their position and size.

- 22 - © BOC Portfolio Analysis with ADOit ® Evaluation of an object via attributes of type - Enumeration - Integer / Double - Expression

- 23 - © BOC Portfolio Analysis with ADOit ® Approach Evaluation of objects  Analysis Component  Graphical analysis  Portfolios Predefined portfolios „Wizzard“ for user specific settings

- 24 - © BOC Portfolio Analysis with ADOit ® Examples Application Portfolios: Evaluation of applications: - Functional coverage degree - Phase in apllication life cycle - Scalability Project Portfolios: Evaluation of projects: - Costs - Status - Person days Service Portfolios: Evaluation of IT services: - Reliability - Availability - Maintainability

- 26 - © BOC Analysis / Planning Matrices with ADOit ® It is possible to execute an Evaluation of Coherences between two objects linked by an Object Reference via Analysis / Planning Matrices in ADOit ®. By representing the coherences as objects (Cell) you can plan und control by evaluating these dependencies.

- 27 - © BOC Analysis / Planning Matrices with ADOit ® Approach Analysis Component  Graphical Analysis  Analysis/planning matrix „Wizzard“ for user specific settings

- 28 - © BOC ITIL ® - Component Failure Impact Aanlysis (CFIA) ITIL (Availability Management) This methode of CFIA is based on an Availability Matrix in which the strategic important components for every service are. The analysis shows that CIs leading to an “X” at many important services play an important role within the IT infrastructure (Horizontal Analysis). However, services featuring many “X” marks are very complex and error-prone (Vertical Analysis). Bewertung der Beziehung im Notebook des Objekts „Zelle“

- 29 - © BOC Planning of Coherences between Business Processes and Organisational Units via: - IT services, - Applications, - Data and - Functions Analysis / Planning Matrices with ADOit ® IT services Applications Data Functions
