2 Welcome At the end of today’s meeting, participants will have 1.Reviewed the charge, structure, and tasks of the Collegewide Assessment Team. 2.Reviewed and discussed the processes for Program Outcomes Assessment and General Education Competencies Assessment. 3.Worked on sample assessment plans via a group activity

3 Collegewide Assessment Team - CHARGE Provide leadership, guidance and oversight to ensure compliance with the requirements of the accreditation agencies Support and promote the culture of assessment at Montgomery College Provide recommendations regarding the strengths and opportunities for improvement to MC graduates attaining the learning outcomes based on assessment results Identify and discuss learning outcomes assessment issues and requirements Communicate regularly and report to the College community and leadership on assessment results and activities Address Middle States responses on the Periodic Review Report

4 Middle States 6 suggestions and 2 recommendations on the PRR Among them, three are assessment oriented.  The readers suggest the College ensure that the assessment instruments are consistently scored.  The readers recommend the College complete the mapping of outcomes for all academic programs  The readers recommend the College actively implement a plan for assessing programs that links program outcomes and course outcomes through a formal assessment plan and demonstrate changes made as a result of the assessment results.  http://www.montgomerycollege.edu/msss http://www.montgomerycollege.edu/msss

5 CAT Member Responsibilities Attend all regular Team meetings Review assessment plans, results, and provide feedback Communicate, clarify, and discuss assessment needs with the respective disciplines, deans, and faculty Facilitate small groups assessment-related activities Participate in appropriate professional development, including scoring sessions and related assessment training
