2 Write down author’s Last name (Comma) First Name (Period). FIRST LETTERS ARE CAPITALIZED! Example: Collins, Suzanne.

3 Write down title of the book. Don’t return to the next line – write the title RIGHT AFTER the author’s name. Watch Capitalization! First and Major words are capitalized. Example: Collins, Suzanne. The Hunger Games.

4 Write down the City where the book was published. Add a colon afterwards. You do NOT need to list the state, unless it’s a little-known town (see me). ONLY THE CITY. Example: Collins, Suzanne. The Hunger Games. New York:

5 Write down the name of the company who published the book. Add a comma. Example: Collins, Suzanne. The Hunger Games. New York: Scholastic Inc.,

6 Write down the most current year the book was published. Followed by a period. Example: Collins, Suzanne. The Hunger Games. New York: Scholastic Inc., 2009.

7 Finish with the word Print (period). If this were an online source, you’d write something different. Example—Two Authors: Collins, Suzanne and Gina Greenway. The Hunger Games. New York: Scholastic Inc., 2009. Print. Example: Collins, Suzanne. The Hunger Games. New York: Scholastic Inc., 2009. Print.
