2. Finding the Theme & Message Major and Minor Themes- A major theme is an idea that a writer repeats in his work, making it the most significant idea in a literary work. A minor theme, on the other hand, refers to an idea that appears in a work briefly and gives way to another minor theme. 1.Brainstorm a list of themes present in your text so far. Literary Theme-a message about people, life, and the world we live in that the author wants the reader to understand. 2. Come up with 2 possible messages of your story thus far (this may involve predictions).
