3 Green Jobs What are green jobs?  Jobs in specific sectors?  Jobs that produce so-called green products?  Jobs that also takes into account how the whole production process takes into account the environment?  Jobs that reduce greenhouse gas emissions?  Jobs that include reduction of other environmental degrading impacts (depletion of resources such as air, water and soil; destruction of ecosystems, extinction of wildlife, etc.)? Who defines green jobs?  At international level (UNEP, ILO, …)?  At national level (Governments, social partners, civil society, …)?

4 Decent Work What is decent work?  Work that is productive and delivers a fair income;  Work that provides security in the workplace and social protection for workers and their families;  Work that offers better prospects for personal development and encourages social integration;  Work that ensure social dialogue and participation through freedom of association, the right to organize and bargain collectively;  Guarantees equal opportunities and equal treatment for all. 7 Challenge for the ILO and its Constituents : Finding a Just Transition Framework  a framework for a fair and sustainable shift to a low carbon economy  a framework which addresses the difficulties for workers and unions in facing the possibility that the employment on which they depend might be unsustainable and the importance of creating secure ways to alternative decent jobs and working lives
