 When the legislature passed PA 53, it prohibited school districts from using payroll deduction to collect dues. MEA wanted an easy, safe and secure way for members to pay their dues to continue receiving the benefits of MEA membership.

 It’s easy. You will be signing a pre-printed MEA dues/PAC authorization form or you can go to the new Members Only section of www.mea.org and sign up. www.mea.org  ACH (electronic network for financial transactions) from your checking or savings account.  Visa or Master Card.  On-line through the Members Only Website.  Or you can write a check to MEA.

 MEA began deducting dues on September 15 th, 2013. The dues will be deducted once a month on the 15 th or the next business day if the date falls on a weekend or holiday.  If you choose to fill out the form instead of registering on-line, you must complete as soon as possible. If the form is not turned in on time to process, your total amount due will be taken out in 11 payments instead of 12 payments.

 With this system you can also take care of your voluntary PAC contribution to help MEA fight continued legislative attacks and elect pro-education candidates. Our official PAC drive will not be held until the Spring where we will do our annual PAC your lunch kickoff.

 No, this form represents an ongoing commitment. You’ll only have to complete this form one time.  The amount of dues will vary over time, depending on changes in salary and other factors. But with this one form, you will take care of your MEA, NEA, local, Region, Coordinating Council, MABO and AIM dues (whichever are applicable).

 Pick up your form from an officer in the lobby.  Make sure the personal information on the pre-printed form is correct. Make any necessary changes on the form.  Providing the correct banking or credit card information.  If you are choosing ACH, please check checking or savings account.  If you are choosing Credit Card, MEA only accepts Visa and Master Card.  If you are paying by check, paying online or entering your information online at www.mea.org please indicate this on your form.www.mea.org  Be sure to sign and date the form.  Use this form to make your voluntary PAC contribution.

 On-Line option is preferred  Login into www.mea.org using the E-dues online instructions. You may have to create an account if you haven't done so before.www.mea.org  Once logged in, you should go to My Transactions/E- dues to access your form or to enter your own banking or credit card information.  In the future, you may choose to go online and pay your monthly dues invoice from your bank account or charge your credit card.  You will be able to see your invoiced amounts or the monthly billed amount by selecting “Print E-Dues Report”.

 Please make checks payable to MEA.  Please indicate your name and membership # to assure proper credit.  Invoice details will be available on the Members Only Website through www.mea.orgwww.mea.org  You should mail checks to: MEA Membership 1350 Kendale Blvd. PO Box 2573 East Lansing, MI 48826-2573

 MEA has the highest level of security system in place that respects the information you have given us. We are PCI (Payment Card Industry) compliant and have established strict security procedures to ensure credit card & banking information is maintained in a secure environment.

 Since we are all responsible for paying our dues, you want to make sure that you don't fall behind on your payments.  If dues are not paid, it will go to a collection agency, and this could negatively affect your credit rating. Important to Know
