Citizen-centric approach Goals: contribution to GDP, generate job opportunities, attract investment and expand ICT companies MCIT is serving the citizen through delivering and deploying the basic communications infrastructure and communications services (Internet, mobile operators, land line,… etc.) Also MCIT delivers a number of training programs on all levels (schools students, teachers, technicians, university students before graduation, after graduation, government employees, public …etc.) to develop the ICT skills on all levels On the second level, MCIT is responsible of developing the ICT Industry, there are several programs dedicated for this objective; Access to Finance, Access to Market, Capacity Building, Developing SMEs, Incubators and Accelerators, Access to VCs, …etc.) this is beside adopting special industries that the government sees potential in (BPO/ITO, Electronics, Mechatronics, Open Source, Digital Content, …etc.) The ICT industry again here serves the citizen here by creating job opportunities, and generating revenues to contribute to the country GDP Third. The sector plays a major role in developing the national projects. Examples for such projects are the Digital society and the Digital Hub Both projects demonstrate the valuable impact of the ICT upon our every day life activities Digital Society: shows the ICT as an enabler to the Government citizen transactions, digitization of the citizens, entities, processes, …etc. (enhancing the government services provided to the citizen, as well as enhancing the service process itself for the citizen and the employee who is implementing it.) Digital hub: shows the ICT impact to develop the Suez Canal region into a global service area.. A one that will deliver state of art transportation services. A whole complete industry on a global competitive scale. The project mainly to capitalize on Egypt competitive location…… Such national projects have direct and indirect effects on the Egyptian citizen by creating thousands of job opportunities and at the same time enhance and develop the citizen quality of life by generating revenues that would increase the GDP The final aspect is the sector spill over effect among the different government sectors.
