10
10 Powerware 9120 The UPS is only as good as the batteries that support it. Therefore, we rely on the best technology available to prevent unexpected battery disruptions. Hot-swappable batteries Advanced Battery Management™ Extended run time (external battery modules) Accurate battery testing Advanced warning of battery end-of-life
11
11 Hot-Swappable Batteries You can hot-swap batteries without powering down the critical load. This makes it possible to extend the life of your UPS without returning it for service. 1. Remove front panel 2. Remove battery plate 3. Withdraw battery cartridge and replace battery
12
12 Advanced Battery Management (ABM) Doubles battery service life by charging only when needed Optimizes recharge time Does not trickle charge & starve the electrolyte Microprocessor controlled - Only true & automatic battery check (periodic, controlled discharge) for most accurate advanced failure protection Sleep Feature - no unnecessary battery “drain”
13
13 ABM Diagnostics Accurate battery runtime predictions Actual runtimes are compared to ideal runtime curve programmed into UPS Advanced warning When disparity between runtime curves reaches a predetermined point, UPS provides up to 60 days warning of the end of useful battery service life
14
14 ABM: 3-Stage Charger 1. Rapid recharge to approximately 90% Restores batteries quickly UPS is ready for next power outage Adaptive charger control: adjusts battery charging algorithm to quality of AC input 2. Float charge to 100% Completely charges batteries, but prevents overcharging 3. Rest mode With charger turned off, UPS conducts accurate tests to monitor battery health and provide accurate runtime predictions
15
15 Product overview Extended backup times External Battery Modules (EBMs) with two strings of batteries are available for all models One external battery module gives approx 30 min backup time with full load ( > 60 min with 50% load). Recharge time approx 15 hours Two external battery modules gives approx one hour back uptime with full load (> two hours with 50% load). Recharge time approx 24 hours Battery modules dimensions same as UPS dimensions Up to 2 EBMs can be connected to 700/1000/1500VA models Up to 5 EBMs can be connected to 2000/3000VA models
