2 Haiku  Japanese poem with 3 lines  These poems are usually about nature - Drooping green branches - Weighted down with heavy snow - Waiting for the spring  The first line has 5 syllables  The second line has 7 syllables  The third line had 5 syllables

5 Limerick  Limerick, Ireland  Edward Lear – A Book of Nonsense in 1846  5 line poems that are meant to be funny There was a young lady of Niger Who smiled as she rode on a tiger; They came back from the ride With the lady inside, And the smile on the face of the tiger  Lines 1,2, and 5 are long rhyming lines  Lines 3 and 4 are shorter rhyming lines
