Origins Origin Story: Vidir Machine Inc. Vidir Machine Inc. was founded by Willie Dueck as a metal working repair shop in 1979 to service the local agricultural community of Vidir. In 1985 two of his sons required a solution for retailing cumbersome vinyl flooring. They turned to Willie for a solution who then proceeded to develop the very first Vidir Carousel. A flooring representative took note of the carousel, on a sales call, and from their it was not long until Vidir signed it’s first national account and Vidir as it is known today was born.

Case Studies Case Study: Wal-Mart Wal-Mart Inc. approached Vidir about a bike retailing issue. Standard bike racks were inaccessible at the third level requiring Wal-Mart associates to climb ladders to retrieve bulky products. This was both unsafe, impractical, and customers would walk away sooner than requiring an associate to retrieve a bike for them resulting in lost sales. In response, we developed a system that not only brings the third level out to the customer at viewing height but makes every single bike easily accessible and presentable without ever handling the bike.
6
Case Studies Case Study: Menasha Packaging Menasha Packaging approached Vidir about an application to store 100” printing sleeves. The issue was primarily a storage issue, they needed hundreds of printing sleeves stored and out of the way while remaining easily accessible for quick changeovers. Originally we looked at our print cylinder carousel but ruled this out as the changeover was not quick enough. Our solution to this was our cantilevered carousel design. We designed a carousel that was driven from the middle with access points on both ends so that the client could slide sleeves on and off as needed. Out of this a, new carousel concept was born.

Vertical Carousels If you are familiar with Vertical Carousels, than you have most likely heard that a vertical carousel is a series of shelves, mounted to a chain, which rotates in a vertical path. At Vidir, we are convinced that this is a narrow vision of what the vertical carousel can be. A Vertical Carousel does not need to be limited to simple shelving that rotates vertically, they are what we make of them. The Vertical Carousel was designed to store product, not the other way around so why is it that traditional definitions of Vertical Carousels fit the product around the carousel? At Vidir we understand that a Vertical Carousel is designed around the product that it stores which is why we ascribe to a rounder view of Vertical Carousels. This is what makes Vidir the Vertical Carousel experts. - Foreword by Dean Dueck

Vinyl Carousel The carousel of choice for vinyl retailers in North America, the Vinyl Carousel is one of the more mature product lines that is offered by Vidir. Developed alongside the Carpet Carousel in 1986 the very first Vidir Vinyl Carousel is still in service today. These carousels can be found in nearly all major Home Centers in North America. Vinyl Carousel Benefits at a glance All in one storage, display, dispensing solution Increases employee productivity Increases employee safety Saves valuable floor space
10
Carpet Carousel The carousel of choice for carpet retailers in North America, the Carpet Carousel was developed alongside the Vinyl Carousel. First installed in a Beaver Lumber location, the Vidir Carpet Carousel soon came to dominate the industry thanks, in part, to the patented carpet cutting technology developed at Vidir. Benefits at a glance All in one storage, display, dispensing solution Increases employee productivity Increases employee safety Saves valuable floor space
11
Wire Carousel Developed in 1995 as a retail solution for wire products in large Home Center’s such as Home Depot, the Wire Carousel is seeing increased activity in manufacturing and industrial sectors. The Wire Carousel comes with specialized ‘bays’ to efficiently manage the various spool sizes that are being stored on it. From the largest to the smallest spools, this carousel efficiently manages valuable space. Benefits at a glance Specialized carriers to handle different size spools Increases employee productivity Increases employee safety Saves valuable floor space
12
Textile/Fabric Carousel Developed as an offshoot of the Carpet/Vinyl business, the Textile Carousel developed itself as manufacturers with large quantities of rolled goods required methods to handle their rolls effectively. The Textile Carousel is a largely customized offering as most applications require a slightly different variation. Vidir designs each carousel around the rolls that the customer wishes to store and the available space of the desired location for the machine. Recent developments include advancements in automation and inventory management. Benefits at a glance Increases employee productivity Minimizes material handling requirements Saves valuable floor space
13
Shelving Carousel The Shelving Carousel has developed over the years as the “other” category, for the unique applications that rarely see another client. Over 75% of all Vidir Shelving Carousels that are produced go to the customer with a different carrier than a “typical” Shelving Carousel. This versatility compounded with economical pricing, in comparison to more traditional vertical storage technology, creates a robust demand for Vidir’s services for the price conscious shopper. Benefits at a glance Highly customizable Saves valuable floor space Increases employee safety Manages unique applications Economical vertical storage
14
Pan Carousel The Pan Carousel is Vidir’s most recent addition to their line of Vertical Carousels. The Pan Carousel is inline with more widely recognized vertical storage technology. The original intent behind the Pan Carousel was to be capable of offering greater storage density than the shelving carousel while remaining well below the price point of the other units on the market. To accomplish this Vidir has applied the lean manufacturing concepts that are in use in their manufacturing to the sales process. Vidir has trimmed away the fat, offering a functional unit to their clients, adding options only as specifically needed on a customer by customer basis resulting in a more affordable alternative for customers who appreciate savings.
15
Garment Carousel While the size of this carousel prohibits it from domestic applications, the Garment Carousel is an ideal fit for backrooms, warehouses, and distribution centers. Originally designed and built for an application in uniform storage for schools, municipalities, and the military this carousel is now seeing increased activity in backroom applications for retail giants. One particularly interesting application utilizes an overhead carousel configuration (OTT Carousel). Benefits at a glance Saves valuable floor space Centralizes inventory Stores large volume of products
16
Tire Carousel Originally developed for the automobile dealer the Tire Carousel is capable of efficiently storing large quantities of tires in a small footprint which translates into increased customer service, increased organization, and better protection for valuable inventory. Since it’s early days, the Tire Carousel offering has been expanded to offer storage for larger and heavier tires to accommodate the increasingly demanding requirements of other industries. Benefits at a glance Increases storage capacity Reduces labour requirements Protects valuable inventory
17
Print Cylinder Carousel The Print Cylinder Carousel is used, as the name suggests, to store print cylinders or offset print rollers. The carousel is very similar to the textile/fabric carousel in design and construction although the application of said design is very different. Instead of running the carrier through the core of the product, the print cylinders are instead hung beneath the carrier to hang freely. Each Print Cylinder Carousel is carefully engineered to accommodate the print cylinder’s sizes and dimensions to ensure that the rollers are stored safely and securely. Benefits at a glance Increases storage capacity Minimizes material handling requirements Protects valuable inventory
18
Hollow Core Carousel The Hollow Core Carousel (patent pending) was designed for the printing industry as a means to store, organize, and access large volumes of printing sleeves in a short period of time. What makes the Hollow Core Carousel special is that no one else in the world builds an industrial cantilevered style carousel, the carousel was designed, tested, and built by Vidir. The versatility of the carousel is proven in that, while it was designed for the printing industry, it has found a warm reception for specialized applications among textile/fabric manufacturers as well. Benefits at a glance Stores large volumes of product Easy access to product Minimizes material handling requirements
19
Material Handling Overview The Vertical Carousel is Vidir’s flagship product for vertical storage solutions but does not represent the breadth of Vidir’s expertise in material handling. Vidir’s product lines range from the more commonly accepted Vertical Lifts to new vertical storage technology for markets that previously did not exist. Additionally, Vidir’s capability and experience in working with high profile clients to not only design a concept but to carry that concept through R&D, testing, certification, and finally large scale manufacturing creates a true 360° storage solutions experience.
20
Vertical Lift System This product was originally designed and built by Vidir for Vidir. The system became necessary in our own facility as the danger presented by retrieving pallets of sheet from high locations with a forklift was to great, the sheet lasers were experiencing downtime for loading beyond the acceptable limit, the horizontal footprint of sheet storage was expanding, and sheet metal was getting damaged due to metal on metal contact with the forklift. These needs combined with the nature of who Vidir is made the conclusion to design and develop the Vertical Lift a natural progression in Vidir’s growth as a company.
21
Stack n Store The Stack n Store concept was originally developed at Vidir as a solution for limited storage space for recreational vehicles such as snowmobiles, ATV’s, and golf carts. Interestingly enough, the concept only caught on, in a large way, when a client found a picture floating around on the internet and saw an application for hospital bed storage. The Stack n Store operates using the LIFO picking methodology. The first “bed” is moved into position and raised which will then open up the next position for subsequent “beds”. The process is all accomplished with a push of a button which minimizes the physical requirements necessary to perform the operation.
22
Bicycle Merchandising System Bicycle Merchandising System (BMS) The BMS is Vidir’s flagship 360° solution. Developed for Wal-Mart (see slide 5) to solve a specific need the BMS went through several years of revisions and redesigns until Wal-Mart was happy with the design. Vidir’s dynamic bike rack can now be found in nearly every Wal-Mart across North America. Although the Vidir BMS is often referred to as a bike rack it is easy to forget that it is a merchandising system for bicycles. The unit has an individual cradle for each bike, slide out carriers for the bottom and mid levels, and most importantly the third level that can be brought down to eye level without physically handling the bike. All of this creates a seamless shopping experience for the customer which translates into increased sales and faster ROI’s.
23
Motorized Moveable Bases (MMB) The MMB is an industrial spinoff from the more widely accepted moveable shelving. The difference being that moveable bases are built to integrate with your existing racking and shelving. Your racking is bolted onto our bases providing you with the same benefits as integrated moveable shelving but with the added versatility of interchangeability and a favorable price tag. The moveable shelving concept eliminates wasted space by closing and opening aisles as needed when needed. Each base contains a drive and motor that allows it to move the entire length of shelving to open up the desired aisle. Additionally each base comes with photoelectric sensors to pick up interference on ground level and immediately cut power to the unit if triggered.
24
Industrial Vending Systems Developed over the course of several years, Vidir’s vending systems for flammables and other dangerous materials has spent many hours in R&D to meet the changing demands of the market. What makes this system so unique is that it enables you to vend propane 24/7 without any supervision, the same as a candy bar or beverage. This is due to the strictly mechanical operation of the machine and the rigid safety requirements that it is built to meet. Originally designed as a vending system for propane, applications in other industries are quickly becoming apparent. Benefits at a glance Provides 24/7 service Mechanical operation allows vending of flammables Improves sales tracking data

Dual Cradle The Dual Cradle product line is the second longest standing product being manufactured at Vidir today. Due to the success of the vinyl carousel, Vidir was approached within the year about building a line of Dual Cradles to roll and cut carpet. As the original manufacturer of the Dual Cradle, Vidir has overseen the line as it has grown from the original hand cranked unit to the motorized unit that it is today. Currently, the line is comprised of 5 different model and various feed tables. The Dual Cradle product line is exclusively sold and marketed by Accu-Cut International. Cutting Equipment These machines were originally designed and patented by Vidir to dispense carpet and vinyl directly from a Vidir Carousel with the intent to create an all in one solution for retail applications. Dependant on the model you get ‘weights and measure’ certified counters are offered as well as stretch wrap attachments, portable units, and clam shell cradles. All of the available options were designed and integrated to increase convenience and most importantly make the customer’s shopping experience better.
