5 What is a Growth Hub? Growth hubs are local public/private sector partnerships Usually led by the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) Bring together public and private sector partners to promote, co- ordinate and deliver local business support Provide a mechanism for integrating national and local business support so it is easy for businesses to access Locally delivered with local business needs at the forefront Range of delivery models around the UK

10 The Cornwall and Isles of Scilly GH: Funded through ERDF, Cornwall Council and the LEP Can work initially with any business (SMEs wanting to grow) Support available depends on circumstance (eg. ERDF Eligibility, aspirations etc) We diagnose both eligibility and business needs Tailored solution for the business Link up with support providers Shared information to smooth out processes Information…

Business enquiry into Growth Hub Navigator carries out diagnostic/ eligibility ERDF Eligible Senior Business Connector Diagnostic, action plan and referral (3 hours) Business links up with support and puts plans in place for GROWTH Non ERDF Business Connector Diagnostic, action plan and referral

Website Listings of schemes and programmes that can support growth (UP, Oxin,BIG2 etc) Listings of private sector providers to can help (Accountants etc) News Events Information Listings of national and local support Human Navigators to initially diagnose Business Connectors to look at in-depth needs/diagnosis and action planning Referral to relevant support Ongoing relationship to help business grow and achieve goals Knowledge of local and national support

Business comes to website www.ciosgrowthhub.comwww.ciosgrowthhub.com Business connects with Growth Hub (online/phone/email) Navigator speaks to business and discusses route for them Business Connector then connects with business for diagnostic Business needs are discussed and action plan for growth drawn up Referred to relevant provider of support If needed, contacts Growth Hub again for further support and referred to further support

18 Case Study: Watersports Company 3 Staff T/O over £100K at the moment Trading for 3 years Looking to grow, busy, but needs help with plans for expansion.

19 Case Study cont: Goes to CIOS Growth Hub Website and undertakes online diagnostic- shows they may be eligible for some help via ERDF funded programmes Speaks to Business Navigator who organises for Business Connector to visit the business and diagnose need, and draw up action plan based on goals. Diagnostic shows that the most suitable solution in the short term is the C4G ‘Coaching for Growth Programme’ Business Navigator makes referral to the C4G programme Business then work with C4G

20 Case Study Cont: Not ERDF Eligible? Business makes contact with the Growth Hub Online diagnostic suggests business may not be eligible Navigator/ business make contact and examine needs Business Connector carries out diagnostic and develops action plan Support brokered in from national provider to help business grow
