7 My Experience I have been on internship with McKesson for four summers has given me the opportunity to work on a variety of projects. I have also been fortunate in the sense that I have worked with many different people. Since I have worked in the Field Technical Support group of the IT department each summer, they have a huge comfort level with my technical as well as customer service capabilities. This fact has allowed me to be considered a normal employee in the sense that I do everything that an everyday field technician does, which can range from technical support to operating system migrations. I have also had the opportunity to explore the vast environment that is known as “Information Technology”.

8 Projects I Have Worked On Aside from the everyday activities of customer support, I have been involved in many projects that have a direct impact on McKesson Corporation. Some of them are listed below: - Designed, implemented, and maintained an iventoried database of all the hardware assets in the corporate office. - Assisted in the migration from a Microsoft NT environment to Microsoft XP. - Converted a pharmaceutical call center to Voice over IP. - As lead intern of the FTS department I supervised the other interns in the department.

9 Lessons I Have Learned From my experience as an intern at McKesson I have been able to learn many valuable things about IT and the corporate world. The most important lesson that I have learned is to take initiative. By making myself available for projects, and letting people know that I was eager to learn new things I feel like I have had the opportunity to do more than I would have otherwise. I also learned that just completing a task is not enough when it comes to advancing in the corporate world. It is just as important to finish the job as quickly and efficiently as possible, while making sure that each objective is being completed the way it is supposed to. My greatest challenge as an intern was earning the respect of my department as well as anyone else that I worked with. I believe that was I not able to learn quickly and adapt to many different situations I would not have been given the chance to return to McKesson. The computer skills that I have set me apart from many other interns and employees.
