3. For Whom do you Look Those who feel the Spirit of the Y Who support the event or love BYU Who has the energy to Give Doers not talkers Enjoy working with others in teams Care and want to give back Demonstrate skills you need

4. Why people become involved They are asked to get involved Feel needed and sense of fulfillment Family, Friends or Neighbors benefit Religious reason or Passion Like to meet new people

5. How do you Ask? First, Know what you need Be Specific Be Honest in Expectations/Honest in Commitments Train them Don ’ t make a volunteer wait, Immediate Involvement

6. Help new volunteers Contribute through meaningful assignments Participate in Success Communicate clearly & regularly Show them genuine appreciation
