2 الرؤية : تصبو الكلية إلى أن تكون الأولى بمنطقة الشرق الأوسط لتخريج أطباء ذوى قدرات تنافسية وأن تقود الإصلاح فى التعليم الطبى. الرسالة : تهدف الكلية إلى إعداد خريج مدرب ذى مهارة تنافسية على المستوى المحلى والاقليمى، وقادر على التعليم والتعلم والتدرب مدى الحياة وملتزم بمعايير الخدمة الطبية والأخلاق المهنية. وتسعى الكلية إلى التطوير المستمر للبرامج والمقررات ودعم وتطوير البحث العلمى مع التوسع فى الأبحاث العلمية التطبيقية وبرامج الرعاية الصحية لخدمة احتياجات المجتمع وتنمية البيئة. كما تهدف الكلية إلى توفير كوادر متميزة أكاديمياً وبحثياً من أعضاء هيئة التدريس ودعم الجهاز الإدارى والارتقاء بالنظم المؤسسية وتوفير الموارد الذاتية لتحقيق الغايات والأهداف. القيم : نحن نمارس عملنا بقصد التميز وليس لمجرد الأداء، ونمارس الصدق فى كل ما نفعل، ونسعى دائما لتحقيق المساواة فى الحقوق والتوازن بين الحق والواجب مع الاحترام المتبادل، ونحن نعمل معاً لمصلحة الفرد والمجموع. 2

3 1 - Overall Aims of Course Ability to diagnose and manage common eye diseases. Problem solving skills in a variety of common ophthalmic diseases. First aid management of ocular emergencies. Health education of preventive measures to common ophthalmic diseases. Ability of self learning. 3

4 2 - Intended Learning Outcomes of Course (ILOs) Knowledge & Understanding: by the end of the round, you will be able to: a1. Describe the structure and function of the eye and each of its parts, with correlation to relevant clinical applications a2. Describe the main ageing eye changes. a3. Describe altered structure and function (aetiopathogensis) of eye and each of its parts, with correlation to ophthalmic diseases. a4. Describe clinical features, differential diagnosis and complications of common eye diseases and vision threatening conditions presenting throughout the age spectrum. a5. Describe the principles of management of the common diseases that may affect the eye. a.6 Describe basic principles in health education, disease prevention, screening, early detection and control of community ocular problems. 4

5 2 - Intended Learning Outcomes of Course (ILOs) Intellectual Skills: By the end of the round, you will be able to: b1. Correlate structural, functional and biochemical alterations of common ocular conditions and diseases with clinical data. b2. Relate ocular manifestations to their specific systemic diseases. b3. Select appropriate investigations for common ocular diseases, emergency and vision threatening conditions and interpret the results. b4. Use problem solving skills in a variety of ophthalmic diseases. b5. Design the initial course of management for stabilization of vision in ocular emergencies. 5

6 2 - Intended Learning Outcomes of Course (ILOs) Practical & Professional Skills: c1. Perform examination of adenexa of the eye. c2. Measure visual acuity. c3. Test visual field. c4. Test extraocular muscle motility. c5. Examine pupillary light reflex. c6. Examine anterior segment of the eye. c7.Simulate first aid measure for ocular emergencies and trauma. c8. Practice Basics of health and patient’s safety and safety procedures during practical and clinical years. c9.Communicate clearly, sensitively and effectively with patients regardless of their social, cultural or ethnic background. 6
