Page 809.06.2016 AWD application in Bac Lieu AWD recommended by IRRIAWD application in Bac Lieu AWD practicing Safe AWD = Irrigate when water is 15 cm below the surface Keep the field continously flooded (3-5cm) at flowering stage. Safe AWD = Irrigate when water is 10 cm below the surface 4 water saving stages: seedling, panicle initiation, panicle formation and ripening AWD impacts Reduce pumping times/cost by 25% Reduce water input by 15-30% without yield loss Reduce pumping times/cost by 30% Reduce water input by 30% without yield loss Reduce rate of lodging Increase yield due to the lodging reduced Facilitate harvesting by using machine Be able to use safely on moderate Acid sulfate soils

Page 909.06.2016 AWD & 1 must 5 reduction results in Winter – Spring 2012 – 2013 in comparison with traditional method Farmers achieved an average increased net profit of about $ 250 per ha (with a range of $ 190 to $ 350 per ha). AWD application in Bac Lieu
