3. From Canaan to Egypt Believed God told Abraham to leave Mesopotamia and go to Canaan Promised the land belonged to them Lived in Canaan for 100 years. Drought=no water=no food. Moved to Egypt to survive

4. An Egyptian Pharaoh(King) enslaved the Israelites. To prevent a rebellion, all baby boys were thrown into the Nile River. Moses’s mom put him in a basket to save him. Moses: Israelite, raised by the Pharaoh 1290 B.C - Got a message from God telling him to lead the Hebrews out of Egypt and back to Canaan.

7. The Ten Commandments While traveling to Canaan, the Hebrews stopped at Mt. Sinai God gave Moses the Ten Commandments Laws about religious beliefs and behaviors

8. The Promised Land It took 40 years to get back to Canaan Moses never lived to see the Promised Land. When they arrived, the Canaanites were living there. They fought and beat the Canaanites finally regaining the promised land in 1125 B.C.
