The aborigines used dot painting as a way to tell stories and record rituals They passed on stories orally and through music and pictures ◦ The pictures acted as guides to help them tell the stories Didgeridoo players would play music as they told the stories Often, the stories in the art were secrets that only the storyteller could see, so they would paint dots all over the picture hide it, or camouflage it

Dip q-tip directly down into the paint Carefully place your loaded q-tip straight down on you paper where you want it ◦ Use small palettes to mix colors ◦ Each q-tip has it’s own color – do not mix!
