For materials it means : - The ability of an object to spring back into shape - Being elastic Like a spring!

For people it means : -The ability to recover quickly from difficulties -Toughness

Who is this? J. K. Rowling -Was rejected 12 times from publishing agencies before someone ‘took a risk’ in developing her book

Who is this? Albert Einstein -He couldn’t speak until he was 4 years old -His teachers said he ‘wasn’t very clever’ and ‘would never amount to much’

Who is this? Walt Disney -He was told that he ‘had no imagination’ -A newspaper report said that he ‘lacked original ideas’

Who is this? Thomas Edison -Told by his teacher that he was ‘too stupid to learn anything’ -He should have a job that ‘doesn’t need a brain’

Who is this? Lionel Messi -When he was 11 years old he was cut from his school football team because he was ‘too small’ and ‘would never be very good’
