2. What is a Solar Eclipse? A Solar Eclipse is when the Moon passes through the space between the Earth and the Sun, thus creating a shadow usually thousands of kilometres wide. It is not that rare because it happens about once every 7 years but still causes a lot of excitement to see a moon in front of the Sun. You can watch safely by either using safety glasses or a pinhole camera.

3. Solar Eclipse, how does it happen? A Solar Eclipse happens when the Moon blocks the Sun. This happens because of the way we are orbiting the Sun, the Moon orbiting the Earth and the Earth’s rotation in space. A more detailed description how would go like this : Now if a country faces to the sun, and the Moon is still up ( The Moon is still up there in Daytime but we cannot see it! ) and the Moon goes in to the line of view from us to the Sun, you get a Solar Eclipse.

4. Solar Eclipses, its history. Solar Eclipses have been around since the Earth had a Moon. When it was first recorded in very ancient paintings and inscriptions, it was regarded of Dark Magic, bad omens, a way to predict the future and many negative reasons. Then came an age where us, humans, wanted to know more about, well, everything. And in that ‘everything’ was the Solar Eclipse. Because the ‘telescope’ was invented ( Thank you, Mr Galileo ), we could now explore at least a few thousand kilometres into Outer space ( Which in fact is not that much seeing the Universe is just… BIG ), and so we could see how and why this event was happening. Nowadays, Solar Eclipses are a big event where families come out munching popcorn and wearing Sunglasses ( Better than nothing though ) when hundreds of years ago, people hid in their houses full of fear.
