14. This body was found in a peat bog (piles of decaying vegetation) on Tolland Fen in Denmark in May 1950. Two brothers were digging when they suddenly saw a face so fresh they thought they had come across a recent murder. They called the police. The men removed more of the peat to see the man was laying on his right side as if he was asleep his big toe was missing on one foot and he wore only a simple tunic, pointed hat and belt around his waist. Round his neck was a rope noose and an iron neck ring. It was drawn tight around his neck and throat.
