4 What you need to do? Be aware of gaps in your community and resources available to your Centre Be aware of what other CLC’s are doing Be connected to different funding sources so you know when rounds open/close

5 When decide to write a funding application – some steps Read guidelines/deadlines/information sessions How does your project fit within guidelines Read each section and start filling out Who will supervise the project – get them involved from the beginning Do you have/need partners – get them involved from the beginning and keep informed Plan how the project will look if running and work backwards – develop a realistic timeline

6 Examples Aims/Objectives/Action Plan/Evaluation This project aims to increase knowledge amongst south coast Indigenous women about the criminal justice process, their rights and how to access services for assistance within their local area thus empowering them to use indigenous specific and mainstream services to their benefit. Formation of working party with key agencies delivering DV and FV services Design evaluation strategy Employ project worker to design content for visual resources Contract designer to prepare culturally appropriate visual resources January-March 2011 First payment received Working party formed with members attending meetings and actively involved in process Project worker employed and working with project outcomes & timeline Evaluation strategy prepared and Project Worker aware of evidence to be collected at each point of the project Posters designed and draft produced for piloting (note need to comply with L&JF Publishing Checklist and funding acknowledged)
