UNIT II Multimedia and Interactivity 1/2 Introduction to create a multimedia application (simple multimedia presentation, using the software and hardware) –Create a new presentation –Insert images, animation, movies –Pages – Slides – Frames – Stages (terminology – examples) –Open the software (select the software); from PowerPoint to Macromedia Flash

UNIT II Multimedia and Interactivity 2/2 Multimedia and Hypermedia (advanced multimedia presentation, publish multimedia application on the Internet) –The Flash working environment (interactive examples, tests) –Publish a flash movie (on the internet, as an autonomous application) –Publish a PowerPoint presentation as an html file –eLearning Standards –W3C – Dublin Core Element – SCORM – AICC in practice Multimedia and Interactivity (create interactive materials, quizzes, exercises, interactive movies) –Create interactive materials (links, text, layers) –Create interactive movies (examples – screen capture movies) –Quizzes – exercises (type of exercises, scoring, connection with databases)

UNIT III Design of a multimedia material 1/2 The scenarios –The aim –The story –The content –The elements (text, images, movies, sounds) Interactive exercise in a flash movie (case study) Scripting –What is a script? –Understanding the timelines, the behaviors and the templates –Media support Interactive exercise in a flash movie (case study).

UNIT III Design of a multimedia material 2/2 Select the most efficient format –Web application – How a web application works –Dynamic pages – Server/client technology –CD/DVD applications (off line application) –Select the most efficient format (case study – exercise) Design of a multimedia application –Import text, image, sound, video –Create graphic, button, movie symbols –Use the templates and the behaviours Interactive exercise in a flash movie (case study) Create the application –The student creates his/her own application and send it to the teacher

UNIT IV From a multimedia material to an educational material Create training modules, units and chapters –The student develops his/her own lesson and creates the modules, the units and the chapters. The teacher supports the student with examples. Interactive exercise in a flash movie (case study) Create quizzes, exercises and tests –The types of quizzes, exercises and tests –How to create interactive quizzes –The multiple choice test –The time limited tests Interactive exercise in a flash movie (case study) Manage the lessons and the students –Publish the lesson –How to support the student (synchronous – asynchronous)

UNIT V Teaching with the multimedia educational material Teaching in the classroom –Use the presentation and off line multimedia applications –The student will present his/her own presentation (scenario) Web based teaching (e-learning) –Presentation of a Content Management System Use the online editor Use the SUMO template –Presentation of a Learning Management System SUMO system –Web editors Templates –Accreditation study The student presents his/her own educational material

Multimedia application See an example of the possibilities we have to present the items of Module 5. The size of the movie is 800x600.

CRITICAL POINTS The module 5 is the module where the student completes the training and presents the knowledge he/she has received. We must agree the following issues: –What does “basic skills for using the internet as didactic resource” mean? Browsing Install the players Use the applications (image, charts, sound, video) Other –Which are the applications (software) we will present the images – graphics, sound, video, movies, web editing etc, with? Macromedia products (Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash, Authorware, Captivate, Director) Notepad (basic html) Sound applications Video (Adobe premiere) Photoshop Other
