4 KS2 SATs – 31 st May 2015 If a student achieves: Level 6: the student is working well above the UK and GES expected level for a pupil at the end of Year 6 and will be able to continue into the Secondary School. Level 5: the student is working above the UK and GES expected level for a pupil at the end of Year 6 and will be able to continue into the Secondary School. Level 4: the student has achieved the UK and GES expected level for a pupil at the end of Year 6 and they will be able to continue to the Secondary School. Level 3: the student is working below the UK and GES expected level for a pupil at the end of Year 6. The student will not move into the Secondary School, Year 7, however they may be given the option to repeat Year 6.

7  They are used widely both in the UK and internationally and have shown themselves to be a useful tool in target setting and predictions for students

12  The School is aiming to use this information in a number of ways: 1. To aid the setting of achievable target grades for students and staff 2. As additional evidence in student capabilities 3. To target students who appear to be under- performing 4. To assist in students making the best subject choices for them in KS4

13 5. Allows staff to gain a clearer understanding of student strengths and areas for development 6. Shows parents the potential of each student and the expected academic success 7. Parents and staff can use this information during meetings to discuss progress and expectations.
