All Saints’ Day Sunday 1 st November All Souls’ Day Monday 2 nd November

2 1 st November All Saints’ Day

3 All Souls’ Day (2nd November 2015) The day after All Saints Day It was a tradition years ago for the poor to beg for food on this day – in return they promised to pray for the dead. The food they were given was ‘soul cakes’ – a cake with a hole in the middle, representing eternal life The day when we pray for those who have died but are not yet ready to be with Jesus in heaven.

4 Two roads diverged in a yellow wood and sorry I could not travel both And be one traveller, long I stood and looked down one as far as I could to where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, and having perhaps the better claim because it was grassy and wanted wear; though as for that, the passing there had worn them really about the same. And both that morning equally lay in leaves no feet had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -- I took the one less travelled by, and that has made all the difference. Robert Frost

5 Dear Lord Today I will make lots of choices. Help me to know the right choice and to always follow your example. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen

6 Which road are you going to take today?

7 Eternal rest grant to them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen
