2 A student carried out an investigation to study the effect of pH on the activity of catalase. In the presence of catalase, hydrogen peroxide breaks down to release oxygen gas. The student set up five test tubes, as shown in the diagram, and observed the amount of oxygen gas released. Explain the effect of pH on the enzyme catalse.
