5 CCIAAs and access to finance TODAY 77 Chambers of Commerce promote access to finance 77 Chambers of Commerce promote access to finance 66% of them operate in the framework of mutual guarantee schemes (Confidi) The Confidi members are today nearly 950. They guarantee about 24 bil € of credit They finance over 1 million SME’s. CCIAAs CCIAAs invest 40 mil EUR in Confidi € They garantee about 17 bil € As a response to the financial crisis… over the past two months Italian Chambers of Commerce have provided, through the Italian mutual guarantee scheme (Confidi), 4.2 billion € more for credit

6 TOMORROW The financial instrument of the CCI A national body managing the income of the Chambers Objectives:  facilitate access to finance for SMEs;  create a stronger relationship with the guarantee fund system to optimize the role played by guarantees (from 320mln € up to 55,5 bil € bank guarantees) ;  favour efficient management of cash stock and flows (1,3 bln €) Activities: guarantee underwriting, co-guarantee and other forms of credit;  guarantee underwriting, co-guarantee and other forms of credit;  treasury services and cash management for the chamber system, operations of securitization;  standardization of particular initiatives in the fields of start-up, seed capital, rotative funds;  transmission of contributions and funding, including EIB and IEF;  consultancy for SMEs/Banks relationship;  strategic planning;  admission to public quotation in stock markets.
