Red Signifies Marine Corps Blue Signifies Navy 36,000 People 4,000+ Aircraft $40B / year Our Command focuses its energy on our Sailors and Marines. Since its inception, NAVAIR’s goal has been to provide full life-cycle support of naval aviation aircraft, weapons and systems operated by Sailors and Marines. This includes research, design, development, and systems engineering; acquisition; test and evaluation; training facilities and equipment; repair and modification; and in-service engineering and logistics support. We rely on our team members – civilian, military, and industry partners – to adhere to these principles and provide our Sailors and Marines with the latest technology and the ability to sustain legacy systems, weapons, and aircraft. The Guidance includes nine initiatives, each with lead/supporting roles and supporting actions. Talking Points: The budget challenges of FY13-FY14 tested us, but we set priorities, executed our programs, and minimized disruption to the Fleet. In, FY15-16 we expect a small decline in funding – with steady workload. This continued pressure will drive us to create new and better ways to deliver capability at reduced cost. The 2014 Guidance builds on the considerable progress we’ve made on our three Strategic Priorities (People, IWC, and Affordability); and moves us forward through nine Command-wide initiatives. We will implement these nine initiatives through collaboration and innovation, enabling us to deliver maximum capability and speed for every dollar invested.
