Luke 9:10-17

"I don’t have enough!"

Luke 9:9 Herod said, "…who is this man about whom I hear such things?"

Need: pressing, unifying Need: pressing, unifying Circumstance: dire Circumstance: dire Humanity: craving what can’t satisfy Humanity: craving what can’t satisfy

John 6:8-9 "There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are these for so many people?"

David and the Sons of Korah took their cravings and deficiencies to the Lord (Psalm 63:1-4; 41:1).

Luke 9:12 "Send the crowd away, that they may go into the surrounding villages and countryside and find lodging and get something to eat; for here we are in a desolate place."

Luke 8:25 They were fearful and amazed, saying to one another, "Who then is this, that He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey Him?"

Luke 9:3 And He said to them, "Take nothing for your journey, neither a staff, nor a bag, nor bread, nor money; and do not even have two tunics apiece.

Yesterday, God helped me, Today He’ll do the same. How long will this continue? Forever—praise his name.

Luke 9:13 But He said to them, "You give them something to eat!"

"The best preparation of His servants for their work in the world is the discovery that their own stores are small."

Jesus Greater than Elijah (2 Kings 4:42-44) Greater than Elijah (2 Kings 4:42-44) Greater than Moses (John 4:10, 14; 8:12; 9:5; 6:32-35) Greater than Moses (John 4:10, 14; 8:12; 9:5; 6:32-35)

John 6:35 Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst.

If Christ lives in us, we are more than just sufficient we are well satisfied.

Luke 9:17 And they all ate and were satisfied; and the broken pieces which they had left over were picked up, twelve baskets full.

"Just after death, what then?"

John 6:51 "I am the living bread that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; "I am the living bread that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread also which I will give for the life of the world is My flesh."

John 6:50 "This is the bread which comes down out of heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die."

Hebrews 7:25 He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

Hebrews 10:22 … let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

Where do we look for satisfaction?

We will stay hungry until we give ourselves wholly to Christ. Philippians 4:12-13 2 Corinthians 3:4-5
