THE LARGEST MARINE OIL SPILL IN THE HISTORY OF THE PETROLEUM INDUSTRY Gulf Coast Interoperability refers to a plan that was designed and implemented in May of 2010, to provide radio communication interoperability for personnel tasked to cap a Gulf of Mexico sea-floor ‘oil gusher’ and to aid in the clean-up efforts for what stemmed from the April 20, 2010 explosion of the Deepwater Horizon.

VIEW OF SPILL FROM SPACE

PLANNING FOR ‘GCI’ INVOLVED TEAMWORK To Gather and determine requirements To Review existing systems & network infrastructure To Design and implement plan leveraging on existing Radio networks where available To Establish channel naming convention and usage To Implement and build and test necessary network connectivity and configurations

BUILDING ‘GCI’ with ISSI Inter-RF Sub-System Interface Leveraged on Existing P25 Trunked Radio Systems –Austin ‘GATRRS’ –Harris County ‘TxWarn’ –Louisiana ‘LWIN’ Leveraged on Existing Motorola hosted P25 ‘ISSI’ solution –Louisiana ‘LWIN’ system was added to the ISSI network

ISSI High Level Overview The ISSI.1 Network Gateway Application is a connectivity solution which utilizes an available ASTRO 25 Zone Controller Site Link to connect over a wireline P25 ISSI interface, to another network with another ISSI gateway similarly connected. The ISSI.1 Network Gateway will work with any ASTRO 25 System Release 7.5 and higher. Each ISSI.1 Network Gateway Application allows 27 simultaneous trunked calls between systems and 60 interoperability TalkGroup pairs

ISSI ENABLES CONNECTIVITY by ‘mapping’ talkgroup id’s across connected systems

LEVERAGING ON MANAGED ISSI

Expanding ‘GCI’ using Motobridge Expanding ‘GCI’ using Motobridge Leveraged on disparate radio systems –Mississippi – MSWIN –Alabama –BP MC252 Radio System Integrated Radio Control –For Marine & Aviation frequencies

MOTOBRIDGE ‘Radio over IP’ Ability to connect Analog, Digital, Trunked, Conventional systems from various vendors in multiple bands

LEVERAGING ON MOTOBRIDGE SYSTEM
