LEADERSHIP Dr Ojuka

JESUS STORY Mathew 9:35-38 Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

INTRODUCTION Proverbs. Where there is no vision people perish That vision must be the problem as God sees them. Jesus saw the problem.

JESUS IN MATHEW The what of this portion is harassed and helpless. The why would be no leadership, no workers How the workers would come because God would bring them, it is God who calls people to his work. It is him who will bring about the need around us as clear as it can be.

NEED FOR LEADERSHIP To meet the need around us To influence people in fulfilling that need God is almighty but requires human hands to meet the needs

NEED FOR LEADERSHIP The influence must not be from position of power but is in meeting the needs we see What they stand for We will need to empower one another, to mentor student and junior doctors

MOSES The L ORD said, “I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey—the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. And now the cry of the Israelites has reached me, and I have seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them. 10 So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.”

MOSES I have seen I have heard I am concerned

VISION Leader is influencing people towards fulfilling a vision Vision is what comes from the heart of God. Are we seeing what God sees What have you seen within the Christian doctors? I have you heard of the Christian doctors who backslide because of no one fellowshipping within them?

VISION DEVELOPMENT Moses and Nehemiah were people who were involved. Moses was eking a living by tending to sheep of his father in-law, hoping to get his sons some inheritance. Nehemiah was like statehouse comptroller, civil servant who was involved. They heard God’s word, they saw the need God was seeing and it gripped their heart.

SUMMARY There is great need of leadership Where there is no leadership people perish: Are you seeing the need
