3  Geographical Location: North-West of Iran  Capital city: Zanjan  Area: 21,773 sqm  Share of the province from area of country: 1.34 %  Number of sub-provinces: 8 including Zanjan, Abhar, Ijrood, Khodabandeh, Khorram-darreh, Tarom, Mahneshan, Soltanieh  Vicinity with: 7 provinces including East Azarbaijan, West Azarbaijan, Ardabil, Kurdistan, Gilan, Qazvin and Hamadan  Population: 1,015,734  Relative population density:47 person per one sqm  Share of the province in total population of country: 1.35%  Urban population percentage: 62.5% 3

13  Existence of 11 industrial states and 2 industrial zones more than 1300 Hectares (operating) and 3 industrial states and 2 industrial zones (under construction) in all sub-provinces  Existence of large industrial companies such as Iran-Transfo, Pars Switch, National Lead and Zinc Company, Tesco Company, Saba Tire Yarn, Calcimin, Irico, Abhar wire & cable, etc …  Existence of a large and varied textile production complexes to invest in completion of production chain of the industry and having the seventh rank of country in terms of value added in this sector  Existence of enterprises to produce mineral products such as zinc ingots, lead, decorative stones to create industries such as zinc alloys, zinc powder, processed decorative stones with modern technology 13
