2 Homelessness

3 In 59 cases (0.6% of all applications this quarter), the main applicant cited Welfare Reform as an underlying factor in applying to their local authority for homeless assistance. This includes 22 applications citing removal of the spare room subsidy, 19 citing the Benefit Cap and 18 citing another aspect of Welfare Reform. Out of these 59 cases, 47 were assessed as being either homeless or potentially homeless. But checks with LAs revealed only 2/22 were actually affected by the RSRS

5 Estimated target of 48% of DHPs spent by 30 Nov 2013 assuming spend profile as in previous slide

6 Scottish Welfare Fund In the first 6 months of operation: –Community Care Grants (£7.0 million) –Crisis Grants (£2.2 million) –Significant variation across LAs No baseline established yet for comparison.
