4 WHAT HAPPENED? A deadly winter storm produced 10-15 in (25-40 cm) snow and a messy mix of ice- slicked and snow-covered roads, power outages and whiteout conditions in 22 states--from Texas to New England.

5 WHAT HAPPENED? The storm left more than a half-million homes and businesses without electricity.

6 WHAT HAPPENED? The storm is already blamed for 17 deaths, mostly in traffic accidents.

7 WHAT HAPPENED? Schools, universities, local government offices, courts, and some businesses closed. Over 6,000 airline flights cancelled.

19 MORE SNOW EXPECTED ON FRIDAY—VALENTINES DAY The tail end of the storm is expected to bring another blast of snow and potentially a couple more inches overnight into Friday and Saturday. By the time the storm moves offshore, it will have dropped 1 to 2 feet of snow along the Eastern Sea Board from Washington, D.C. to Portland, Maine.
