Gigabyte - The standard unit of measurement for hard drives. Bit – it’s the smallest piece of data RAM - Random access memory is fast, temporary storage for your computer. Kilobit/megabit/gigabit – use to describe bandwidth speeds Terabyte - this is equal to 1,099,511,627,776 bytes.

3 Time line 1935 – IMB introduces electric type writer. 1940 - Hewlett-Packard is founded in Palo Alto, Calif. 1950 – the military begins to use computers to simulate operations in the war games. 1966 – the first case involving a computer, a bank programmer is convicted for making a computer ignore all his over draft checks. 1966 – computer instrument makes its first hand held calculator. 1976 – ¼ inch floppy disk was made. 1977- apple makes Apple 2 as a personal computer. 1990 – the world wide web was made. 1995 – first CD player was made. 2007 – Mac Book Air was made.
