表示推测的情态动词有must, may, could, might, can。
must表示说话人对事物的推测可能性的程度非常大,意为“一定;准是”;表示有把握的否定推测时用can’t,意为“不可能”。如: 1. I can’t find my keys. I must have left them at home. 2. -- Is she Mary? -- That can’t be her. She’s in hospital.

can表示“可能”,常用于否定句、疑问句中。could为can的过去式,表示推测的语气较can弱。如:
-- Can the man there be our math teacher? -- He may be, but I am not sure. may意为“也许”。might为may的过去式,表示说话人对现在或将来不太确定的可能性的推测。如: Li Ming might get here in time, but I am not sure.

意思 推测程度 must 一定,肯定 100%的可能性 may might /could 有可能, 也许 20%---80%的可能性 can’t 不可能, 不会 可能性几乎为零
