1 “We will lead the nation in improving student achievement.” This session is designed to begin conversations about: the alignment between GPS standards/elements and CCSS; grade level/course alignment; unaligned GPS standards.

2 “We will lead the nation in improving student achievement.” We will welcome feedback through December, 2010 Feedback regarding integration of the Common Core Standards with the Georgia Performance Standards can be emailed to DOE.

3 “We will lead the nation in improving student achievement.” How will the precision review grade band committees be chosen? The committees will: o represent mathematics educators in different roles; o represent mathematics educators across the state; o be selected from educators who have volunteered to serve.

6 “We will lead the nation in improving student achievement.” Alignment Codes “0” Shows the GPS and CC placements are at the same grade level. “2” Shows the GPS as two grade levels BELOW the CC placement. “-3” Shows the GPS as three grade levels ABOVE the CC placement.
