2 OUR PROJECT TO DETERMINE FORCES ON A BODY UNDERGOING DYNAMIC FORCES OF A SUDDEN IMPACT. WE WILL OBSERVE WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN THE CYCLIST IS UNDERGONE SUDDEN IMPACT.

3 OBJECTIVE USING WORKING MODEL 2D WE WILL SIMULATE AND OBSERVE WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THE CYCLIST WHEN SUDDEN IMPACT OCCURS DURRING A HEAD ON COLLISION

4 SUMMARY WHEN A CYCLIST IS TRAVELING AT HIGH SPEEDS, THE KINETIC ENERGY AND MOMENTUM ARE EXTREAMLY HIGH AND IF SUDDEN IMPACT OCCURS THESE FORCES CAN CAUSE GREAT DAMAGE.

5 STATISTICS Each Year: Approximately 750 persons are injured. Approximately 30 persons die. Approximately 82% of persons killed are not wearing helmets. Approximately 70% of non-helmeted persons die from head injuries, compared to 36% for helmeted persons.

9 RESULTS ACCORDING TO WORKING MODEL ANALYSIS HIGH ACCELERATIONS WERE INDURED ON THE HEAD AND BODY OF THE CYLIST AS SHOWN ON OUR GRAPH. ALSO THE TORQUE WAS DETERMINED VIA WORKING MODEL.
