9. Early Life: Gabriel García Márquez was born on March 6, 1927 in Aracataca, Colombia. His Father was Gabriel Eligio García and his Mother was Luisa Santiago Márquez. He lived with his grandparents until the age of 9 when his grandfather died. At age 9 he moved to Sucre, Colombia to live with his parents HIS LIFE

10. Early Life: García Márquez’s grandparents were the most influential part of his early life. His Grandfather helped to shape his Liberal political and social views. HIS LIFE

11. Family: García Márquez married Mercedes Barcha in 1958 His first son, Rodrigo Márquez, was born a year later. The family traveled throughout the Southern U.S. in 1961, an area García Márquez wanted to see because of its influence on William Faulkner, before settling in Mexico City HIS LIFE

65. Love in the Time of Cholera The story evolves around Fermina Daza, who rejects Florentino Ariza, her first naïve love. She married by her self designated age of 21 to Juvenal Urbino, a doctor. Both men show they are not entirely devoted to the women they are with, which includes Juvenal cheating on Fermina Fermina realizes the maturity of her love with Florentino, but in their old asge they can only have limited communications and never fully share their love. The General and His Labyrinth This is a novel about the Latin American hero, Simón Bolívar It contains stories of his travels to different cities within Latin America As Bolívar ages and weakens so does the stability of the government that he created.
