22. The Wampanoags were the Native Americans who lived near Plymouth.

23. In the spring, the Wampanoags helped the Pilgrims to plant food. The Wampanoags also showed the Pilgrims how to catch wild birds and animals for food.

24. In the fall, the plants they had planted together were ready to harvest and eat.

25. To celebrate, the Wampanoag and the Pilgrims had a great feast.

26. This feast became known as the first Thanksgiving.
