12 Why did it fail?? People made their own alcohol – Bathtub gin – Moonshine People smuggled it from Canada & Caribbean Bootleggers - smugglers sometimes hid bottles in their boots.

13 Why did it fail?? Speakeasies – illegal bars – Almost made drinking more popular – Created a “counter culture”, or “underground culture” Gangsters became very powerful! Al Capone
