33 Considerations for CSP responses Green Belt functions to check the unrestricted sprawl of large built- up areas; to prevent neighbouring towns merging into one another; to assist in safeguarding the countryside from encroachment; to preserve the setting and special character of historic towns; and to assist in urban regeneration, by encouraging the recycling of derelict and other urban land.

35 Considerations for CSP responses Sewage is a problem and will get worse with more houses in CSP and upstream to Missenden Develop settlements where there are trains and buses-its more sustainable Preference to build within the natural boundary-not extensions in to the Green Belt Brownfield sites and unwanted businesses
