Applications are available to all non-profit and public agencies (including state and local governmental agencies, universities and community colleges). 6 Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) Webinar Please note: Agencies should apply for the amount of funds that can be utilized by June 30, 2018. Applicants should take into consideration their agency's ability to sustain programs beyond June 30, 2018, because funding can change.

8 Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) Webinar Definitions of Created and Retained Jobs Created jobs are new paid positions or existing unfilled positions proposed to fill, as a result of VOCA funding. Retained jobs are existing positions for which applicants have documentation that the positions would have been eliminated if not for VOCA funding.

9 Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) Webinar How to Calculate Full-Time Equivalents (FTEs) FTEs are calculated by dividing the cumulative number of VOCA funded hours anticipated to work during the funding period for each created or retained job (including overtime, paid leave, and other compensation) by the number of hours in that position’s full time schedule. For example, if you are requesting VOCA funding to pay for 10 hours a week out of the 40 hours the staff person would work, you would divide the 10 hours by 40, to get a 25% FTE.

10 Budget Definitions Personnel: Positions to be funded Payroll Taxes and Fringe Benefits: Rate for each position funded multiplied by each funded position Health Insurance, FICA, etc. Operating: Agency’s rent, utilities, telephone, fax, postage costs, supplies, travel, insurance coverage, dues, conference fees, equipment which cost less than $1,000. All materials must be submitted on typed, single-spaced, 8 ½ x 11 inch, white paper with one-inch margins and double-sided. 2. Font must be Times New Roman, size 12, black font. 3. The name of your agency and page numbers must be clearly indicated in the center of the footer on each page.

21 Budget Narrative Provide an explanation / justification for each expense listed in the budget detail for each category. Ensure that the budget items are clear and appropriate for the project.
