2 Federal, State, and local authorities work in concert to encourage the smarter supply and use of Bay-Delta water Intensify and align Federal and State water conservation and recycling efforts Initiate joint planning activities Priorities

3 Conservation and Recycling Provide additional interagency collaboration and program coordination which is essential for sustainable management of the Bay-Delta Interagency collaboration and coordination that benefits stakeholders

4 Water Conservation – Department of Water Resources – California Department of Public Health – State Water Resources Control Board – Natural Resources Conservation Service – US Environmental Protection Agency – US Army Corps of Engineers – Bureau of Reclamation Agencies already providing technical and financial assistance for water conservation:

6 Interagency Collaborations Criteria for Collaborations: – Builds upon agency mission and program – Focuses on overlapping authorities – Streamlines processes – Generates multiple benefits – Cost effective from a statewide perspective – Rapid Implementation – Expansion possibilities based upon success – Assists stakeholders with conservation and recycling efforts

7 Potential Areas of Collaboration Leverage and link funding opportunities Web-based clearing house and data base for available programs and assistance Streamline application processes Develop quarterly programmatic coordination meetings SB X7-7 - 20 percent reduction by 2020

8 Potential Areas of Collaboration Leverage and link funding opportunities: Coordinate USBR, DWR, and NRCS financial assistance programs for water conservation Coordinate USACE Watershed Planning Assistance with other agency implementation programs Funding for water recycling projects

9 Potential Areas of Collaboration Web-based clearing house and data base for available programs and assistance – Examples of Collaboration: Build upon USBR’s WaterSMART clearinghouse and other existing agency websites to establish a database for Bay- Delta information and programs
