2. A day in Toolangi This is a picture of the morning sun coming through a lovely Toolangi tree fern. With wide big leaves bigger than me cover the trunk of the tree fern. This picture was captured after everyone had morning tea. This was the first stop. It was very interesting when we went on a little tour with our guide. My groups guide was named Ian. Our coloured group was the blue group.

3. The giant tree This is a picture of the blue group look at a very big mountain ash tree. Our tour guide, Ian is talking about this mountain ash and how old and tall it is. Mountain ashes are the largest type in the world. This was our first stop, it was the forest. Throughout the tour of the forest there were many mountain ashes and ferns. We had to wear hardhats in case there were any sharp twigs falling off branches and hitting us on the head.

4. Entering the rainforest This is a picture of the entrance of the rainforest. If you look at the top of the picture there are leaves of the tree covering us, this is called a canopy. It is colder in the rainforest because of the leaves of the canopy. There is a walkway ahead so we don’t damage the trees, plants or dirt.

5. In this picture Mr. Miller is drinking the fresh water from the river. We got a cupful of the water poured in our hands which was very cold. It was pretty hard not to splash it on your clothes. We got seconds to taste the water, I think it was because we had a nice guide.

6. This is a picture of the blue group going on the boardwalk through the rainforest. ‘Twas colder than a normal forest.
