What is ‘Project Minotaur’? Home security robot capable of monitoring the user’s home while they’re away. Can be manually controlled through a website or configured to patrol the house autonomously. Uses Kinect to capture video and identify intruders. Team 16 : Project Minotaur Presenter : John Hubberts

Packaging Constraints Needs to be able to navigate any indoor terrain Needs to be able to support 10 lbs of electronic equipment 3 lbs for Kinect 1.5 lbs for Atom board 0.5 lbs for Microcontroller and PCB 5 lbs for analog components (2x1.5 lbs Motor, 2.0 lbs Battery) Needs to be narrow enough to navigate through, and short enough to turn around in standard sized hallways (~5ft wide) Needs to be build in a way that prevents Kinect from seeing parts of the chassis

Comparable Product - Rovio Wheels vs. Treads Rovio needs less accuracy, as it lacks autonomy Camera on servos Doesn’t need static camera location for depth sensing Solid, inaccessible, commercial reinforcement vs. exposed prototype design
